Position Overview

This position is responsible for the installation of our projects across the entire DPS Group. 

Electrical Supervisors are responsible for the execution of a project or multiple projects across the DPS Group, they will oversee all aspect of construction from planning and procurement through to commissioning and handover. 

Installations will be delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

The department will work autonomously to provide the required solutions within budgets and timescales, that will be delivered by the Project Department.

You will work in a way to minimize any Health & Safety, Financial or Technical risks associated with a project. 

Position Requirements

Working as an Electrical Supervisor you will:

  • As a member of the project team, you will be involved with multiple departments across the group and this will be a critical part of project designs and planning.

  • Reports Directly to the Project Engineer in control of the project.

  • Support the project engineer on planning and reporting.

  • Responsible for resources, times scales, procurement and budgets to meet the customer requirements.

  • Ensure safe Management, control/operation of all associated personnel/equipment on site.

  • Develop sub-contract works specification & liaising with sub-contractors

  • Develop site-work documentation packs (Project planning, risk assessment, method statement, client-based documentation, test certification)

  • Working within and maintaining Processes and Procedures, includes HSEQ on-site activities such as HSEQ Inspections/Audits, TBT's, Van Checklist and other site safety requirements.

  • Ensure the installation provided is in accordance with the client specifications, current legislation and agreed scope of works. 

  • Allocate required resources in line with the project plan to support installation, commissioning, SAT, FAT

  • Maintain a good understanding of the project requirements

  • Managing variations and technical queries on the project ensuring they are logged, reviewed and approved by the client

  • Issue regular updates to Group/Team on progress and highlight any risks or concerns 

  • Competently manage a team of core staff and contractors as part of your overall responsibility for the safe delivery of projects. 

To be successful for the Electrical Supervisor role, we're looking for:

  • HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Recognised Apprenticeship / Approved SJIB Electrician/Technician 

  • Have at least five years' proven experience in Managing Industrial Engineering Sites/Projects 

  • Adaptable and flexible approach.

  • Able to use own initiative and work to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced with client-facing.
